Prowler

EQUIP a Prowler. FIRE will send the Prowler out, causing it to travel in a straight line. The Prowler will lock onto any enemies or trails in their frontal vision cone and chase them, nearsighting them if it reaches them. HOLD the FIRE button to steer the Prowler in the direction of your crosshair.

Overview

Fade is an initiator whose primary ability throws an all-seeing eye into the sky to alert you as to where your enemies are. If that sounds dystopian to you, then you are absolutely right to think so, but did you expect otherwise from a game featuring a bunch of superhero-esque characters shooting guns at each other? Probably not! Fade’s your girl if your idea of a good time is becoming the panopticon.

Role: Initiator

Initiators can gain information on enemy position for your team and they can help flush enemies out of tight hiding spots.

On defense, their utility is used to gain information first and foremost, but they are also adept at supporting aggressive plays and retake scenarios.

On attack, their utility is used to clear tight angles and to make it harder for opponents to sit in expected defensive positions.

Tips and Tricks

  • Haunt [E] is her bread and butter -- you want to throw it as high as possible to maximize its line of sight on enemies. This means there are a lot of unique lineups that will drop the Haunt [E] on a high piece of terrain (such as a roof).

  • You can drop your Haunt [E] early to help with those lineups or to simply clear closer corners.

  • Once you’ve identified enemy positioning, you can use Prowler [C] to nearsight them or force them off of angles (sometimes both). It can also be used without the Haunt [E] if you just need to clear a tight corner.

  • Combined with Nightfall [X], Prowler [C] speeds up greatly and locks onto enemies to further hinder them.

  • Seize [Q] is one of the few abilities in the game that is great when paired with allied utility (such as Raze’s Paint Shells) to lock enemies in place as they eat ability damage.

  • Seize [Q] is also great at clearing corners or in a choke to prevent enemies from approaching.

  • Nightfall [X] is an ability that can flush enemies off of a site entirely -- if it tags them, you can follow the trail with impunity as they’ll be deafened and unable to hear you. This is especially effective with high mobility allies that can immediately pounce on the opportunity.
