Nanoswarm

Overview

With trusty robot partners at her side, Killjoy is the ultimate set up and wait agent in VALORANT. As a defensive anchor, she’ll lockdown one of your sites to the point where even hearing that her utility is there will encourage the opponents to rotate to a different point of entry on the map. Her ultimate is great at allowing you to either take or retake a site, which gives her options outside of just sitting back and waiting for her turret to detect enemies.

Role: Sentinel

Sentinels are defensive anchors for your team.

On defense, they provide utility that can clog chokes and slow the enemy team’s approach if not deter them altogether.

On attack, they are typically responsible for watching flanks with their utility while lurking in a different direction from your team.

Tips and Tricks

  • Typically you want to have your Turret [E] watch one entrance to a site and then place your Alarmbot [Q] at the other -- this prevents enemies from being able to just walk on.

  • You can then bait the triggering of those abilities to swing and shoot enemies as they are trying to kill your robots.

  • On offense, you want one of these abilities to watch the flank for you -- this is usually the Turret’s job since it can spot enemies from afar.

  • If your team is struggling with lurks, you can try to place your Turret [E] in a location that can see multiple entrances, and then you place your Alarmbot [Q] towards the center of the map so that you can clog up both mid and your side of the map.

  • Nanoswarm [C] can be set up once you plant the spike, and then you can stagger them to keep enemies from defusing.

  • On defense, you can pair Nanoswarm [C] with Alarmbot [Q] to catch common angles attackers might hide in once they enter the site. This is doubly effective behind layers of smoke or if your team is able to blind them on their entry.

  • Nanoswarm [C] can also be tossed to clear tight corners or to slow down enemy advances at choke points.

  • Lockdown [R] can be destroyed by utility and other opponents’ ultimates -- be sure to track if the enemy has anything that can kill it before using it nilly willy.
